Yosemite - Mail grouping unrelated messages from same sender

Hi,

I have a similar problem. I like the group by conversation feature, and it worked great in Mavericks, but now certain conversations are being grouped together. They have entirely different subject lines, and different people involved..

Any way to correct this? Or to manually 'ungroup' the problem threads?

I have the same problem. Help Apple!!

In Mail Preferences..., click on the Viewing tab and uncheck the box for "Include related messages". This seems to work for me, but I haven't tested the result extensively. Good Luck!

I too am having this issue but I might add that it's only happening with an account through gmail.

Having exactly the same problem. It is even grouping unrelated messages over several accounts. It is really annoying as I am sometimes not able to find my mails and it already took a lot of time off of me.

Please create a solution Apple!!!

I'm getting this issue with GMail.

Checking in the GMail interface shows the conversations all being grouped correctly. Apple Mail is linking based on something else. Disabling 'Group by Conversation' helps to remove some confusion but doesn't resolve the problem (related messages are still linked incorrectly).

Not sure what Apple have done to their Mail client but it needs remedying pronto.

This problem has been absolutely crushing for me, and been dealing with it for I weeks. I went to disk utility and verified and repaired disk permissions (i had a ton that were bad) and did a PRAM reset. Appears to be working as it did in mavericks.

Tried it and doesn't work for me unfortunately. Still unrelated messages, even over different accounts are being grouped together.

Anyone else tried this??

Yeah, the issue re-emerged again for me too. So frustrating. The senior tech I talked to even recommended rolling back to mavericks since this is sort of a deal breaker for me.

I am going to call in again today to push for a solution.

I've been having a similar issue. In the end I gave up on Mail, and moved over to Postbox. Everything is grouping/threading correctly immediately.
