Can't add or delete bookmarks- Yosemite

Whenever I try to add or delete bookmarks, a pop-up comes up saying "The sites above include your bookmarks and history from Google Chrome. Keep or Don't Keep". Regardless of which option I choose, the pop-up won't go away and I cannot add or delete bookmarks/favorites. I've already tried re-installing Yosemite but this did not resolve the issue. Does anyone know how to change this? Thanks in advance!

It appears like you may have iCloud syncing for Safari turned on. That would explain why the bookmark made its way from your iMac to your MacBook. Try turning iCloud syncing off, then resetting your Safari by running the following commands (this will blow away all your previous settings):

rm -rf ~/Library/Safari

rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist

defaults delete com.apple.Safari

If Safari starts without the issue, then try turning iCloud syncing back on for Safari. Hopefully, you won't run into the problem again.
