supposed to be the illustrator.plist file somewhere.

is there in: user folder - library - preferences - "Adobe Illustartor Settings" folder?

if there is one, just move it to desktop and restart, see what happens (those are temp files anyway)

you also could try to create new user account in System Preferences and try to open Illustrator after login in as new user.

if it runs under new user, could be some conflict in original user setup.

if it's not working under new user, try deleting and re-installing Illustrator.

applications sometimes quit when there is conflict with other software or settings.

I'm experiencing crashing, too — after some editing actions (such as changing transparency) and on "save as." Tried making a new user, repairing permissions, trashing prefs, stripping down the file to the minimum, but no help.

I did not have any problems before I installed the latest updates from Apple (the ones related, I believe, to Aperture compatibility). Right now I'm suspecting that they are to blame.

I have not tried reinstalling yet, but that's next...

it could be softarwe conflict - 2 applications try to access same area in memory etc.

it's possible that OS upadte installed something causing the conflict, especially if problesm started after an update.

sometimes it could be hardware issues, like RAM or hard drive.

one way to test would be to use your machine in target mode to boot another machine, and run the apps - if it's still crashes the same way, problem is likely software related.

Hello Apple Forum,

Illustrator 11.0.0 or CS1 is problematic. It crashes for no reason. I've just experienced another crash. Have Adobe got on the case with this yet? I don't know what is causing this, hardware, software, conflicts?

I have done a complete re-install and now I can't get Illustrator to launch.

Any suggeations on what I can do to get Illustrator up and running again.

Is there a bug fix?
