Why are there 5 duplicate "iMac" Shared/Devices in Finder?

how long since you have done this?
About 6 days.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
I have/do.
Mine seemed to resolve itself after a power outage forced a reboot on the airport. (the only thing I hadn't rebooted when trying to solve)
I find I'm having the same issue after installing Yosemite. Additionally, I get a dialog saying that there's another device using my IP address. Sometimes I will get dumped from wi-fi as well.
Hopefully we'll get a fix soon.
Rebooting Airport devices is a good suggestion... I should have thought of that since it seems related to the issue (network). So I restarted all three of them for added measure with the others after you mentioned that. It's been 12 days total now and the problem hasn't returned.
I use to get that IP address dialog and wi-fi dump often in the past w/ Mavericks and earlier. From iPhone? Haven't seen it in Yosemite though.
I Recently discovered the my ATV (2 & 3) won't wake my computer any more and I have a feeling that these 2 issues are connected....I will trust that Apple will come out for a bug fix, seriously disappointed with Apple lately bugs galore!!
Has anyone else tried or had any success with my original suggestions;
Mine still hasn't reverted back to this behavior and the only changes I've applied since are;
- Change "Computer Name" (System Prefs>Sharing>Computer Name).
- Turn Wi-Fi Off (System Prefs>Network>Turn Wi-Fi Off or Menu Bar>).
- "Sign Out" of iCloud (System Prefers>iCloud>).
As well as;
Restarting Airport Devices
I've done all of these things... Still no go. I believe it's probably one of the "shared" Macs that's booting me from Wi-Fi periodically...
Perhaps after OS X 10.10.1 update. It mentions "Improves Wi-Fi reliability".
I'm hugely disappointed to report that the 10.10.1 update did nothing to resolve this issue, as a matter of fact it change my computer from the already erroneous 2 to a 3
Come on Apple wake up!
10.10.1 did indeed fix this for my 3 macs so before passing judgement try this.
1) rename your mac to something unique you haven't used before (under sharing)
2) turn off back to my mac, wake for network access in system preferences (under iCloud and power respectively)
3) restart your router
4) change your name back to your preferred name
5) turn back on back to my mac, wake for network access, etc.
I have tried all these things already but not in this order so I will try and report back, thanks.
