Why are there 5 duplicate "iMac" Shared/Devices in Finder?

I had noticed a couple duplicates before (even with Mavericks) but now there are suddenly 5 "iMac"'s showing under Shared & Devices in Finder. What's going on? There's only one iMac and two WIN PC's on network. Been this way for years.

Has anyone else tried or had any success with my original suggestions;

Mine still hasn't reverted back to this behavior and the only changes I've applied since are;

  • Change "Computer Name" (System Prefs>Sharing>Computer Name).
  • Turn Wi-Fi Off (System Prefs>Network>Turn Wi-Fi Off or Menu Bar>).
  • "Sign Out" of iCloud (System Prefers>iCloud>).

As well as;

Restarting Airport Devices

10.10.1 did indeed fix this for my 3 macs so before passing judgement try this.

1) rename your mac to something unique you haven't used before (under sharing)

2) turn off back to my mac, wake for network access in system preferences (under iCloud and power respectively)

3) restart your router

4) change your name back to your preferred name

5) turn back on back to my mac, wake for network access, etc.
