Multiple logins required after launching iTunes?

Each time I launch iTunes (after a restart, or after some time has passed, say a day, without using it) I'm asked 3 times in a row to login to my Apple ID account. The first time, it indicates it is to check for available downloads. The second and third times both indicate it is to allow "automatic downloads".

It doesn't seem right, does it? No-one should have to retype their password three times, every time they simply want to run iTunes. It's fairly recent behavior, and definitely feels 'broken'...

Any ideas how to make it stop? I mean, aside from not allowing iTunes to check for available downloads, or disabling automatic downloads? I'd like to keep those functions if possible...

Thanks in advance!

Hey Robinson...I hope you got this worked out. I was having the same problem with my MacBook. Started right after I loaded yosemite on my new iMac and this MBP.

Maddening to get the urge to listen to iTunes on this MBP while working on my iMac only to spend several minutes having to login several times.

I went to preferences > advanced > clear cache reset warnings and it seemed to do the trick as suggested below..

hope it helped!
