iPad Air 2 WiFi Issues
I'm having WiFi connectivity issues on my new iPad Air 2 (WiFi only). I'm having to turn WiFi off and on to reset my connection. Restarting and restoring hasn't fixed the issue.

So this blog ha been going for two years and still no fix.
come on Apple step up to this issue. It's a real pain.
Maybe it's time for all you Air 2 owners to be upgrading your old routers
EXACTLY!!!! Just what I have been saying now for 26 pages!!!!
My, how people fight the truth....
lol
Keep at it, eventually we will get it
So in your world, Apple should release whatever it wants and we should assume that any problems are the fault of the other non-Apple products that are out there already. Hey, I understand, sometimes being delusional makes life easier to tolerate.
how about I'll spend my money to upgrade by brand new router (that works with every device known to man except the iPad Air 2) and you can pay to upgrade all the routers in all the other places (Starbucks, McDonalds, etc) that I want to use my iPad Air 2 but can't.
Oh, and by the way, when I spoke on Tuesday with the Senior Advisor in Apple Support that I've been working with, she told me that they (Apple engineering) "know there is a problem" and are trting to resolve it. For the first time, she acknowledged they are seeing the issue broadly (ie not just me and my router) and that I/we should expect a fix from Apple to resolve the issues. Unfortunately, she has no timeline on when such a fix might be made available.
So either out of the kindness of their heart they (Apple) are going to fix 'a router problem' for everyone, or more correctly they are going to fix the Apple problem that is causing this mess in the first place.
I totally agree with Jameshaddock. The problem lies with Apple's software not playing nice with several "N" routers and they should FIX that.
I have tried my iPar Air 2 with an AC router, the new Linksys E8350, and the WiFi issue has diminished but not completely gone. Meaning, I am connected to WiFi and remain connected to the Internet after I wake it from standby/sleep.............but, it does lose connection for a few moments. This happens occasionally. Better than with my Linksys EA4500 "N" router, but still not perfect. I have both modes set to Auto and have the router reserve an IP address for the iPad so it doesn't budge from there.
I'm almost positive that if Apple address these WiFi issues we are having in the next iOS update, we can keep our routers and all will hopefully be well.
As a side note, if you have $ to spare, a new AC router would be a future proof upgrade to today's HD intensive devices.
*** Can't you guys read? For 26 pages?
I am having MY problems with a BRAND NEW ROUTER with its latest update so your "cute little solution" (of upgrading ypur router) is not a solution.
Sheesh, some people think they know it all. I thought this was a support forum, not a "You are a ******* if your problem is not "solved" by my solution"😟
My workaround of quitting Angry Birds after playing is a lot more tolerable than coming here to see the mantra repeated. (Is there an app for my Mac to get this tomato stuff onto my router, or is it only for geeks?)

My router is very very smart : It's only set up "incorrectly" for an iPad Air2.
Ah ha... problem identified.
Sorry about the little rant there, but the brand new AC router was intended to be a recent/future "proof" replacement for my aging Time Capsule upgrading generation and range for the new iPad Air2. What was I thinking? Devices without iOS 8 work fine (so I guess the router must be OK?) Things with iOS 8 (or 8.1) have the problem - how does the router know?.
Well, actually, I misrepresented the situation a bit there. It is set up "incorrectly" for devices with iOS 8 or 8.1 (including a 5s) - so how does it know when to "fail" for only those devices with iOS 8? Did the latest firmware available from NetGear tell it "Work flawlessly with everything except iOS 8?"
Occidental, try to calm down ok, you're posts include sarcasm and hard to understand
Well, I was ticked off by someone who posted essentially: "we've been saying for 26 pages that a router upgrade will solve your problem" as if they hadn't been reading the posts.

Happy to 🙂
REPEAT AFTER ME:
THIS IS NOT A ROUTER PROBLEM!
Unless, of course, you are having similar problems with your other devices.
THIS IS NOT A ROUTER PROBLEM!
I mean... it really is not, right? I'm not the most technologically savvy but unless Apple posted that the Air 2 would not work with routers of a particular version or brand, I don't think that "buy a new router!" is a "solution" to this issue. It doesn't change the fact that the Air doesn't work with routers or even firmware on those routers that it's supposed to.
In addition, if you're reading the whole thread someone here also has said that Apple itself (or someone at their help line) has even admitted as much... that it's either the software or something in the device.
