Late 2011 Version MacBook Pro Display (Sometimes Blue Screen w/ Stripes or White Screen)

Hello,

I have a MacBook Pro 15", Late 2011 Version.

Since last week, starting from my screen shift to one side for the first time, I started to have problems with my display.

Now a days, it will happen randomly while I am using it. The screen will turn into blue color with striped all over it and freeze.

And when I try to restart it, it will shows its normal starting screen (an apple logo in the center with the running circle beneath it), then after the logo disappeared, the screen will freeze in a white screen.

Sometimes, it will work if I restart it under the savemode (hold down the Option button while starting up), but sometimes it will go back to the blue screen and stuck there.

I have been searching online and found this article: http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/mac/widespread-2011-macbook-pro-failures-continue -petition-3497935/

I wonder if this is really something happens to a lot of people or not.

Is there ways to solve it? Can't really afford a new laptop or to spend a lot of money on fixing it...

And I dont have a warranty, if I take it to the apple store and repair it, how much it will cost me approximately?

Thx!

This happened to me and I just took it in to the Apple Store to see if I qualify for the repair and turns out I did!! I left it there and they will be finished fixing it in 3-5 days!! I am so elated that I do not have to pay for this repair. It would be worth finding out. The hook your computer up and do a quick test. It tells them right away if your computer is part of the repair program.

Make on online appointment and head down there as soon as you can!
