iPad Air 2 speaker vibration

I Just bought an IPad Air 2 yesterday and found out this speaker vibrating issue the very same day. I like all the other new features, but this vibrating whenever I play music or video is a big problem for me from keeping it. It may not be a big deal for some people, but it's a deal breaker for me. I will have to return this iPad Air 2 even though I like everything else except this one issue. I am a loyal customer of Apple, but I wish this issue was taken into consideration when IPad Air 2 was put into production. This hand held device makes listening music while reading difficult for me, to ignore the vibration is kind of hard. Sorry I really liked the new iPad, thin, fast...etc but this one problem ruined my experience because it kept vibrating when I am playing audio and video. I do hope Apple will look into this and resolve it in future versions, please!

HI Scott Rose, so lucky you able to exchange without any issue. Cheers,

I have same spec as what you have purchase and same speaker issue encounter, but today when I called Apple technical sservice center what they have telling me is that they willing change for me but maybe refurbished unit, i am shock when they told me replace refurbished iPad to me even I just bought it last Wednesday within 7 days. Apple will do it replace refurbished iPad to customer?? How I going to trust Apple in future! Currently I have iPad 4 and iPad mini feel this very good tablet for me and decided to purchased lighters and faster new ipad air 2 but very disappointe.

Bought my ipad Air 2 earlier this month and have returned it for a refund as I found the chassis/screen vibration unbearable even at very low volumes. I've had every generation of ipad and ipad mini (except the very first) and they've all worked flawlessly. I cannot imagine for one minute that Apple would not let the Air 2 be released into volume manufacture unless they accepted that the chassis thinness was a priority over speaker resonance vibrating the chassis. Let's be really clear about this folks - this is NOT normal and its evidence of bad product design.

Also, and no one's really picking up on this, but constant vibration will loosen the surface-mount components on the circuit board. Some of those soldered joints are very fine (not much thicker than a human hair) and I can't see them lasting the term.

I feel let down by Apple engineering with the Air 2. The processor and display upgrades are excellent but the degradation in quality of the user experience due to speaker resonance is not acceptable. It's kind of focusing on the wrong things almost as if Apple are slowly slipping into the 'put the latest processor in as that makes it easier for us to sell more' mindset rather than focusing on the quality of the user experience.

What is this obsession with the thinness of devices anyway?

I found the speakers a bit tinny, but it never really bothered me as I would normally use headphones or AirPlay to my stereo or home theatre speakers. What I have notice is when I put my iPad (which is the leather smart case) on a flat surface it sounds much better. similar to those devices that turn a flat surface into a speaker. I'm wondering if this was meant to be a feature that Apple forgot to mention?
