iPad air 2 pop noise

My iPad Air 2 randomly has a "Pop Noise" out of the speaker. it happens randomly about once or twice a day when touching the screen or pressing a button. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Could it be a software issue or has it more likely to do with the hardware?

I returned two before I received one that did not have a problem. They did not acknowledge the issue either. A friend of mine had the same problem returned his too and the same store said they are not having any problems with the iPad Air 2. He finally received one that did not pop. They will work with you but right now, due to it being the fourth quarter and this is Apple's Flag Ship, I do not think they will acknowledge there is a problem. I would either keep exchanging until you get one that works or get a refund and wait until after the first of the year.

If it matters all three of mine were built during week 42... I preformed a Benchmark on all of mine and the two that made the noise scored very low around 2467 multi core. the one that is not making any noise is 3826 multi-core and the average is 3729. So I have to believe at this point it is running fine. all other tests CPU, Memory, etc., were at or above the average.

THere are apps or you can go to a BestBuy or someone told me there is a website as well. When you Use the Geebench app to check the Geekbench benchmark for the iPad Air 2 you will have to go to their website and select iOS results. http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/search?utf8=✓&q=MacBook+Air+%2813-inch +i7%29+64-bit Then in the upper right hand corner you will see a few horizontal lines click on those and then select iOS benchmark...

I hate to say this but even if my iPad Air 2 does not make that noise today or hasnt since a returned my last one Does not mean I will not start to have problems later on. I was told, by Apple Care, since I bought my first iPad Air 2 online I have thirty days instead of just 14 days. When I returned my first and then second I confirmed that at the store level as well. The second time I returned my first exchange they insisted that i set it up there at the store they just sat there and watched me set up the new one, I was replaceing the first exchanged iPad Air 2 with. This was meanless because the popping noise is intermediate but i did kinda hope it popped as i was setting it up. They were not very nice, they acted as if i was hearing things and their tone was very condescending. They being a supervisor and manager... There are two versions of the iPad Air 2 one is iPad 5,3 & the other is iPad 5,4... Don't know the difference other than what I saw on the benchmark tests. Either way they will have to continue to replace or offer a refund because I beleive in the system. Good luck everyone and enjoy the holidays...

I also had this issue with my brand new 64gb wifi only iPad air 2. It usually made the noise when the battery was nearly full (but not on charge) and I either activated and deactivated Siri (with the home button) or if I repeatedly clicked on and off the address bar in Safari (this was how I replicated the issue when returning it in the store - I picked this trick up from a YouTube video showing the issue). I have had the iPad replaced and this one seems to be ok, but I'm not holding my breath. My suspicion is that it is a hardware issue - it sounds to me like some kind of static build up or arcing within the speaker system.
