iPad air 2 pop noise

My iPad Air 2 randomly has a "Pop Noise" out of the speaker. it happens randomly about once or twice a day when touching the screen or pressing a button. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Could it be a software issue or has it more likely to do with the hardware?

Well regarding tablets definitely nothing android related,if you mean in the future? not an ipad anymore but i can't still say no yet to a phablet like the iphone 6 plus. I still use my ipod touch 5 daily so the next logical step pretty much is gonna be an iphone 6s plus.

But my next phone is gonna be a galaxy s6 that's gonna replace my currently galaxy s3 not happy with Apple at the moment.

Sadly, this is true. I too went for a replacement only to be handed a unit from a suspicious brown box. The Apple technician tried his very best to reassure me it was 'as new', but my eyes are better than his (I found a dent in the silver lining at the bottom of the iPad) so I decided to decline it - and I'm glad I did! After turning off keyboard clicks I can say I have only heard around 2 'pops' in two months, and they were muted pops! This convinces me it has something to do with the keyboard...only wish Apple would bloody acknowledge it!

I think everyone, including myself, has been too quick to get a replacement. Before recycling our new popping iPads to each other, which effectively is what Apple does on our behalf by giving out refurbished units, we should wait and see whether Apple will resolve this in the future. Remember we all have a 1 year warranties. Learn to live with the pops, it might be worth it.

I see your point problem is by the time a new "possible" batch is released ipad 3 air is gonna be here. 5 months have passed already and this issue hasn't been addressed (not even acknowledge on many Apple centers), how much for the next ipad? Just 7 months....

So yeah we need to live with this issue because we are pretty much obligued by Apple, worth it? i don't think so, pretty much A PITA.

My iPad Air 2 that I bought 2 weeks ago was put together in the 52nd week. It didn't start to pop until after one week of use. I'd say it only pops one time a day. My theory is that it only pops above 95% battery strength. Once I'm done charging to 100% is when it happens.... I've never heard it pop lower than 95%. It will pop while in iTunes or Music or whatever. It seems to pop when the speakers switch on .... so I believe it is a battery discharge problem, to much of a surge / voltage . Too much power getting to the speakers because the battery is at full.

I dont know a whole lot about electronics, but this is what seems to be happening on my iPad. Maybe some electronic whiz can explain it. I wonder if this can be fixed through the software.... I'm not holding my breath. I can live with it, I would rather have this one then a refurbished one.

P.s. Edit. It still popped after the update yesterday.

One more thought on this subject: I've noticed that people started to complain about the pops in October right after the release of the Air 2. Apple knew this was an issue, so they should have called their engineers in China to fix the problem if it is the hardware part of the iPad. Maybe they waited a month before admitting to themselves that there was a problem. With that said, my iPad was made in week 52.... I take it that that means the last week of December. Surely, 10 weeks after the release they had this hardware problem fixed (Whether it was isolated to one factory or all of them).

The the same goes for the software if it is a software problem... ..... it should be fixed by now.

PS. I just got done charging her again and no pops above 95%.
