iPad air 2 pop noise

My iPad Air 2 randomly has a "Pop Noise" out of the speaker. it happens randomly about once or twice a day when touching the screen or pressing a button. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Could it be a software issue or has it more likely to do with the hardware?

Let me know if yours still pop? Cause I just finished installing mine and will update if mine pop as well. 2012FitFan did you update your to 8.3 yet? I noticed that with the update when moving the slider on the ring/alert then toggle the keyboard click function there's no pop.

I'm updating my Air 2 now. I'll test and report back soon. Here's hoping for a miracle. 😀

OK, initially very promising results, droid-apple!!

I followed Air8's steps below on 8.2 and could reproduce a pop on demand. I can no longer reproduce the pop following the same steps on 8.3. Hooray!!!!!!!!

Btw, you are correct and they did fix that keyboard click option too!!

The easiest way to produce the pop on my iPop:

Put your finger on the display and swipe down and up. Keep the finger on the display don't lift it up. Each time the finger moves down it opens the search (keyboard comes up) and in the other direction it closes the search (keyboard disappears). No need to type something in the search field. Just swipe your finger down and up repeatedly with different speeds like you are wiping something off the display. That way I'm getting many pops when I have keyboard clicks enabled and zero pops with keyboard clicks disabled.

I'll keep you posted as well. I too will keep my keyboard click on. I'm a happy camper now.

I will as well.

I was talking with my bro last night and he was able to get his to pop on 8.2 using the Spotlight steps. Going to check with him tonight after he updates and see if all is well with his Air 2.

I can't get it to pop moving the 'ringer and alerts' slider as well. I'm very pleased right now. Yippee! 🙂

I saw that post as well.

I haven't had a pop. I've been using all my apps, including Facebook and nothing. More importantly, I can't get it to pop on demand any longer using Spotlight or ringers/alerts. This tells me Apple made a change somewhere in the software. I'm tickled and very hopeful thus far, but also listening for the dreaded pop.

Just a small update, droid-apple.

I spoke with my bro tonight and after he updated to 8.3, he's no longer able to make the pop happen swipping Spotlight up/down. He was also able to get it to pop this way every time as well. No more! Apple changed sometime for sure! 🙂

So far so good mate but i haven't had enough time to test it.

Good to hear my friend. Keep us updated.

I've been trying anything and everything to get it to pop. Had my wife send me Fb messages, while safari and keyboard open. While Fb and keyboard open. Still trying the Spotlight test multiple times too. All these actions can normally force a pop. No popping at all. Keyboard clicks and lock sounds have been ON.

I'm feeling really good about this, but I will temper my enthusisam and continue testing. 🙂
