iPad air 2 pop noise

My iPad Air 2 randomly has a "Pop Noise" out of the speaker. it happens randomly about once or twice a day when touching the screen or pressing a button. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Could it be a software issue or has it more likely to do with the hardware?

Well it was good while it lasted, 3 people already reporting the pops i assume for the rest of us it's just a question of time.

Mine hasn't pop yet but i haven't given it the chance to do it either, i performed a clean ios 8.3 installation today so...

Can we give them that at least (i guess) they are trying to fix it? 'm not satisfied of course 6 months have already passed...

I was thinking about exchanging this for an ipad air 3 as soon as it gets available and paying the difference but to be sincere, if they can't fix this i can easily bet ipad air 3 is gonna pop too and if not pretty sure its gonna have other "issues". I'm just tired of all this. These faulty toys are more expensive than a refrigerator...not nice.

The recent posts about 8.3 curing the problem seem promising. I've intentionally not been charging mine over 75% but I'll give it a full charge tonight and see how I get on.

I do hope that it's cured as it has really ruined my enjoyment of the iPad. The popping always catches me off guard when I least expect it and it is sometimes quite alarming. I do however wonder if there is more than one problem being experienced by people in this thread. In my case, my problem corresponds with the one on many youtube videos linked in this thread and 99% of the time will be when I open the keyboard. However, as far as I know, I've never lost sound as some have experienced.

If I had to explain what it sounds and feels like, in my case, I would tell somebody to wrap an elastic band around the iPad, pull the band about 5 inches away from the back of the iPad and let it go so that it snaps back against the back of the iPad. That's exactly what is sounds and feels like to me.

Good luck to everybody and I'll come back and let you know how I get on.

Well thought out post.

There very well could be two issues. I've read posts where folks have lost sound. I never lost sound. Just an annoying snap pop. It was was always tied into the keyboard or a notification received with the keyboard active.

Since I was able to replicate it on 8.2 with Spolight and can't do the same on 8.3, I'm betting some software adjustment was made in this update.

I think you're on to something, in regards to the possibility of two separate issues.
