iPad air 2 pop noise

My iPad Air 2 randomly has a "Pop Noise" out of the speaker. it happens randomly about once or twice a day when touching the screen or pressing a button. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Could it be a software issue or has it more likely to do with the hardware?

I cannot complain too.

Two full recharge cycles since the update and not a single pop.

Only playing with the Late Night equalizer preset still causes something that sounds like the pop noise, but that's a non-issue.

The Late Night EQ method is the only way I could get mine to "pop", but other than this, absolutely no popping any other way since I started using it in December. Glad yours, and everyone else's has been helped by iOS 8.3. I'd sure love to know what the problem was all along, and what's in 8.3 that fixed it - I'm sure Apple will never divulge it though.

Yes, it would be interesting to get more background info - of course that won't happen.

Other questions:

How do they manage to get the fix to the units that need it and not break the others that never had this issue?

Is it all included in the same firmware update and the installation routine is able to detect whether the fix must be installed or not?

Finally, why didn't it work for everybody?

Well, at the moment using my unit is much more fun than it was during the past six month.

I hope it'll last.

So I think that is finally solved.

But here comes the problem: Only six months and there'll be a new iPad Air 3 in the market.

I think that I'm going to wait for the new version, I don't want to pay 700$ for something that it'll became old in less then half a year.

Six months for a bug it's too much for me 😟

I had my iPad 4 for two years and it still was running perfectly fine. I wasn't even going to update, but a close family member of mine wanted a tablet and that was my excuse to upgrade. I highly doubt the Air 2 will be old or even run slow in six months on iOS 9, but I suppose you have to do what's comfortable to you.

Now that this pop issue is solved, it really is the perfect tablet to me. I couldn't be happier. 🙂

All great questions, but as you said most likely never answered.

I'm just tickled it's gone. I'm no longer sitting here being surprised by pops. 😀

You're right, it's a great device and it'll be great for at least 4/5 years but I'm in the middle of it's "marketing life" and I'm not so sure to spend so many money for a product that will be replaced in 6 months.

I'll wait september ...

PS: Happy for all of you !! finally you can enjoy your "baby" 😉

Enjoy the rest of it i'm afraid, as you mentioned 6 months with this bug was too much but better sooner than later i guess.

I have the same dilema that you have but with the iphone 6, i waited for the samsung galaxy s6, today i got one in my hands today and i could see a big scratch at the home button, apparently it is as prone for scratches as the iphone 6, now i wonder if i should wait for the iphone 6s or just buy the iphone 6 and replace it when the 6s is available...life is short..
