iPad air 2 pop noise

My iPad Air 2 randomly has a "Pop Noise" out of the speaker. it happens randomly about once or twice a day when touching the screen or pressing a button. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Could it be a software issue or has it more likely to do with the hardware?

Wait till it gets cold again in your area...your popping will come back. There is more static in cold weather. Mine stopped popping also, I live in Iowa.

My brother had popping in 95 degree temps in South Florida. He lives their year round. Since 8.3, no pops for him. Plus, he and I could replicate the pop exactly the same way. We can no longer do that. He hasn't heard a pop in a month and believe me, it's consistently warm/hot down there. His and my issue are solved.

Maybe yours is hardware? Has it popped on 8.3? Sure it was still relatively cold there in early April.

HI there.

Mine does it occasionally. Once every few weeks, but when mine does it my speaker stops working. I have to reboot the iPad to get my speaker working again. It has to be static discharge.

Additionally my noise is very similar to the pop sound I hear in those YouTube videos posted on this thread, but more loud, more drawn out, and more like a zap. "ZZZZZT!" And the speaker goes out. Makes me jump!!

IPad Air 2. I've had it for 6 months from best buy and should probably return it soon so I'm not stuck with it after a year is up.

IS my problem software, you think? Or hardware? It just happened and I'm on 8.3 for over a week.

All I can repeat is that I had exactly the same problem and updating to 8.3 cured it completely (so far!) I didn't believe it was a software problem as it sounded too much like a hardware thing, but it hasn't done it again since 8.3, whereas it did it pretty much all the time before that. Maybe backing it up, clearing it down and re-installing 8.3 might help?

Good luck.
