iPad air 2 pop noise

My iPad Air 2 randomly has a "Pop Noise" out of the speaker. it happens randomly about once or twice a day when touching the screen or pressing a button. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Could it be a software issue or has it more likely to do with the hardware?

Since the screenshot you posted is clearly from an iPad that HAS NOT been UPDATED to iOS 8.3, I have to assume you don't know how to update it. I would suggest you take the phone into an Apple Store and have them press the button to update to iOS 8.3. Once your iPad is ACTUALLY UPDATED it will say "iOS 8.3 Your sottware is up to date.", rather than what your screenshot of an UNUPDATED DEVICE THAT YOU POSTED said.

Just trying to help you out because you are obviously confused on how to update your iPad. Someone in the Apple Store should be able to walk you through the process step-by-step. They are very good at helping people out who are not very tech savvy, like yourself.

No matter how much you try to help some folks, they'll always be unhappy. Thanks for you contributions here, ToastyFlake.

Thanks Bob,

I thought my speaker was the problem because I wouldn't classify my sound as a "Pop!" I will try what you suggest.

So happy I'm not alone. I read this thread and didn't feel my problem was the same. Even followed all links to YouTube Videos.

Crossing fingers.!

Someone mentioned earlier it could be two separate issues. I've never lost sound after a pop. Now on 8.3 and no pops.

I would definitely give Bob's advice a try. If that doesn't work, see if you can set up a warranty replacement. Let us know how it goes.

Wow, this is still an issue? I had been following this thread for awhile and then moved on to other issues. Curious how the update 8.3 helped some but others state they are still having problems. I had popping with my first iPad Air 2 but I allowed my tech guys take a look and they did not see any harm with the popping that it was a communication issue between the RAM and processor and there was rumor of a software fix I guess that was 8.3., As for my other iPad Air 2, I bought thru Verizon, had no problems. I am excited for iOS 9. Split screen running two apps at the same time sounds great. Any way I hope the many found the correction with the update.

Peace

I Bought iPad Air 2 seven days ago and updated it to iOS 8.3 that day. A few days later it started to make loud sound, like wrong buzzer or sharp static discharge noise, at random. It was not coming from the speakers. Rebooting did not help, and I'm going to return it for a new one. My problem does not seem to be related to iOS 8.3 update.
