Does iPad air smart case fit iPad Air 2?

I have nice iPad Air SmartCase and I like it, but I'm going to purchase Air 2 and I'm thinking to buy or not to buy the new case. I'd prefer to leave the old one if it works well with Air 2.

iPad Air, iOS 8.1

I bought the iPad Air smartcase for my new iPad Air 2. It fits fine, but since the Air 2 no longer has a mute switch on the side and the volume buttons are a different size now, one of the volume buttons is exposed via the mute switch hole. Not really a big deal.

The bigger problem is the rear camera is slightly offset from the first iPad Air, so the new lens is now slightly obscured.

I only bought this case to offer some slight protection until the case I really want (Belkin Ultimate Keyboard Pro) becomes available which won't be until the day AFTER Christmas. (?!?)

The iPad Air Smartcase will most likely not work with the iPad Air 2 as the Air 2 is thinner than the original iPad Air. So, if you placed the iPad Air 2 in the original iPad Air Smartcase it would not fit snugly and could fallout of the case. Also, even if the iPad Air 2 fit in the Smartcase the front flap that serves as a magnetic sleep/wake function would not touch the screen of the iPad Air 2 as it is thinner than the original iPad Air. I would not recommend trying. I hope this helps:)
