Iphone 5s Family Shared calendar not getting notifications

Hello Everyone!

I'm having a strange issue. My 6 and my wifes 5s are both set up to use Family Sharing. We have a shared calendar we both use. When my wife adds/deletes an event from her 5s, I get a nice notifcation and it shows up in my "Notifcations" bar. However, when I add/delete an event on this same calendar from my 6, my wifes 5s never gets a notification. Nothing in the notification bar and no little number on the app icon. However, if you go into the calendar app, my changes show up just fine. It always seems to be in sync but it never shows a notification. Both devices are on 8.1.

Things I've looked at:

- In the calendar app, I go to edit calendar and "Show Changes" is set to on as well as "Event Alerts"

- In settings->notifications->Calendar, "Allow Notifications" is set to on with it set to display 5 alerts. Also, if I go into shared calendar changes in this menu, Everything is checked and it is set to display in the banner.

- In settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars the default calendar is set to "Family"

Does anyone have any ideas? Its really starting to drive us nuts. I'll change an event in the calendar and my wife wont know until its already too late. Any help is appreciated!!

I have same problem, I get alerts, sounds, red dots on the app in my iphone6 but my wife does not get any of that in her 4s or ipad. The settings are exactly the same. I am the organizer and she is the family member. It has worked for both of us intermittently but reverts back to this. I found a "fix" at apple support the other night at http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3607. It worked by checking the box they suggested for exactly one day and then reverted to your (and mine) situation. Apple had not an idea, said it is supposed to work great. I keep thinking that I must have something in settings set wrong. The events do go on the family calendar just fine and show up all places, but her apple ID does not get the alerts and sounds when something is added or deleted. Maybe someone from Apple will see this and help us out.....

I too have the same issue.

I have an iPhone 6 and my wife has the 5s with both devices on iOS 8.1. We don't do Family Sharing but I share one of my calendars with my wife. When she creates an event, the event appears on my device and I get a notification that an event was added. But when I create an event, the event appears on her device, but without any notification at all.

To test this further, my wife shared one of her calendars with me. Now when she creates an event, the event appears on my device, but without any notification. But when I create an event on this calendar, the event appears on her device and she gets a notification that an event was added.

BTW, this used to work perfectly, with notifications on both our devices.

slooter, looking forward to your response back from Apple.

Thank God I'm not the only one that's having this issue. My iPhone 6 works fine receiving calendar event notifications and new events listed when posting from my wife's iPhone five. When I post stuff to the calendar that is shared through family share my wife's iPhone five does not receive any alerts. I hope they solve this issue soon as this is a very important feature.

I also have the same issue. We have two 5s iPhones both updated to 8.1. We have a shared calendar created on my MacBook Pro and shared with my wife's iCloud account. It shows up on her phone perfectly and any changes that I make from my phone or the MacBook instantly show up on her phone just without any notifications. I've check and rechecked all the settings at least 5 times. If she changes the shared calendar I get the notifications. If I change it she gets nothing. So frustrating!!!!! Completely defeats the purpose of a shared calendar in my opinion. She has to know when I change something or I get in big trouble!!!!! 😠 Guess I'll have to go back to inviting her to individual events. Ugh!

PS - I even created a new shared calendar today to test the notifications and I get the exact same results. No notifications on the iPhone that the calendar is shared with. Only notifications on the phone of the person that create the shared calendar.

We've got the same problem. However, in our case I own a calendar that I share with my wife and vice versa she shares her's with me. When she makes changes to the calendar I own I get alerted and the same happens if I change something in her calendar. Neither of us get alerted if we make changes in the calendar we own. This has become an issue for us since ios 8(.1).
