No more notification for shared calendar

I have a few shared calendars with memebers of my family (everybody usiing Macs running either Mountain Lion or Maveriks and/or iPhone/iPad running iOS 7)

We used to receive notifications when anyone added or modified an event on these shared calendars.

but since a few days, I've noticed that there is no more notifications sent when an event is added, suppressed or modified on shared calendars.

We have to open Calendar to see any modification!

How can we get these notifications back???

I am having the same problem too - I receive notifications to changes to shared calendars, but any changes that I make do not trigger notifications to other users of the shared calendars. I spent an hour and a quarter on the phone to Apple support before being put on hold, then cut off. Sadly they didn't call me back 😟

This started after moving to iOS 8.0.2 but also after I had to change my primary ID. My new ID now has a "+" in the address.

Does any of this apply to other people with the same problem?

I see on the Family Shared Calendar only the "Organizer" receives all the notifications. However, I am not using a family shared calendar, I want my plain-old-shared calendar to notify me when someone adds, changes or deletes things like it used to. I want the option to CHOOSE whether I receive these or not. It is frustrating the new Family-Shared changed it for everyone. Please provide a fix for this!

Where did you read about the notifications? On the Apple GuideI read this:

Family Calendar and Reminders

Family Sharing also sets up a new family calendar that is shared by all family members and appears in the Calendar app on everyone’s devices. Family members can view the calendar, add or modify events, and receive notifications and alerts to help everyone stay coordinated. They will also be able to use the Reminders app to set time- or location-specific reminders that will be delivered to everyone in the Family.

I also believe the notifications stopped at release 8.0.1 or 8.1. It did work, I'm certain. I specifically disabled these notifications on my sons iPhone. He's 11 and does not need to be notified with every change we as parents make in the calendar.

As I mentioned before, this occurs either you have updated or not your OS versions on Macs and/or iPhone.

You can use MacOS X 10.7, OS X 10.8, 10.9, 10.10 on your Macs

You can use an iPAD or iPhone under iOS 7 or iOS8

You can use the online version of Calendar (thru the www.icloud.com page)

You won't receive notifications anymore!

It's definitely an issue on Apple's iCloud servers side.

I Spent three hours on the phone with apple support. The apple "genius" had no idea. I suggested it was a bug in the 8.1 update. He scoffed at the suggestion. This phone call happened on Sunday December 7. I asked him to put a ticket in, he said he would and email me. That didn't happen. I filled out an apple survey from my phone call yesterday, it was filled with all the negative things about that phone call. Shockingly enough, I recently added an event to my calendar and my Partner got the notification! Whether the apple engineers actually looked into it, whether it was a bug, or they inadvertently turned the feature off in the 8.1 update, I don't know. But it seems my angry survey and phone call worked! We now have shared calendar notifications again!!!

I suggest you all try it out because I think it's fixed!
