No more notification for shared calendar

I have a few shared calendars with memebers of my family (everybody usiing Macs running either Mountain Lion or Maveriks and/or iPhone/iPad running iOS 7)

We used to receive notifications when anyone added or modified an event on these shared calendars.

but since a few days, I've noticed that there is no more notifications sent when an event is added, suppressed or modified on shared calendars.


We have to open Calendar to see any modification!


How can we get these notifications back???

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2008), OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Glad to hear that the issue has been fixed for you.

But I'm afraid nothing changed her on my Macs, iPhones and iPAD...


Maybe Apple has solved it specifically for your account or for iOS 8 (but I still use iOS 7 on my devices and MountainLion or Mavericks on my Macs)


I will try to contact Apple Support (but I have no valid AppleCare contract so I will have to accept paying the confcall...)

Have you tried:


1. Signing out of iCloud on all your devices and signing back in?

2. Deleting the shared person off your calendar and adding them back in?

3. Restarting all devices? [Turning the iPad and iPhone off and on again, not the soft reset, but just powering the devices off and then turning them back on]

4. Ensuring that all notifications are on? [as a caveat, notifications were working for me when my partner would delete items from my calendar - you can use this as a test to see if the notifications are working at all]


Let me know if any of these work!

It appears that a restart will fix the Notifications. Apple has not released a statement regarding this issue, nor does it appear in any update materials. However, I think they have silently addressed the issue and fixed it for users. I recommended that everyone retry this feature, and if it does not immediately work, restart all devices and sign in and out of iCloud.
