Keyboard Data (Chinese & Japanese)

In both my iPad3 and iPhone 6 there exists an application in the "manage storage" section of iCloud

named "Keyboard Data (Chinese & Japanese) that is being backed to my iCloud account.

The problem is that I have no such application on either my iPad or iPhone.

Does anyone know what this app. is and if it should be on my devices?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I see you posted your enquiry back in October 2014. Did you manage to sort it? I had the same issue and believe I have just sorted it out!

  1. Go to Settings
  2. select iCloud (even if you have selected to turn it off)
  3. select Storage
  4. select Manage Storage
  5. under Backups - click on the device(s) connected to your iCloud (phones or ipads etc)
  6. Under Backup Options turn off each of the backup items you don't want. INCLUDING 'Keyboard Data (Chinese & Japanese)'.

😠 When I did step 6 it seemed to fight me! I had to select and turn it off several times before it did eventually turn off!

It has stayed turned off for the last hour now! 😀

I do not use a Chinese or Japanese keyboard on any of my devices and never have.

If my devices contain these keyboards, I have never used them.

Why is this "app" being backed up as an "application" to my iCloud account when I have never used these keyboards,

Furthermore there is no such "application" on my devices that I can find which is represented by an icon as are all my other apps.

How did this "app" download to my devices?

I did not download it voluntarily.

How can I remove it if I can not find it as an icon on my device?

Sorry, that's nonesense. The iPhone IS vulnerable, indeed. and it's the bad bad work Apple does during the last 4-5 years as 99/100 exploits are home made in Cupertino. And they do not give a **** as people don't stop buying. Even the iPhone 7 which is not needed due to market research but Apple needs it to get more time to develop something really now.

Howeve, that issue is a known bug with iCloud (which is not fully usable w/o a Windows or OSX device and way behind Dropbox - so backup double!)

THe he file is related to the language support of Asian countries And got corrupt w/ the update on 9.3 (?!)

Simply deactivate it and you'll be fine.

I have not seen any published material from Apple regarding this item, but it would not surprise me if something like this were a part of the iOS installation and not deletable by users and present whether or not the user makes use of the Japanese/Chinese keyboards (which are part of the set of 50 in every iOS device).

I think you will have to call Apple directly if you need further info.

You should be taken down level from your advice because Chinese keyboard data is by all means a gateway to explore different exploits it's been on all my devices I've been hacked and harassed for the last three years and it always stems back to Chinese keyboard data. I even called the senior rep at Apple and he said he had Chinese keyboard at on his phone to explore different exploits with an apple. I believe it was a contributor to allowing them to hack into my chrome book as well if you'd like to see more or video on that, type in YouTube search CHROMEBOOK hacked in Debbie Lincoln's defense.

I've also had this app on my devices all of my devices and have been hacked in her *** for the last three years Apple can't get rid of it now when I go to the store now when I called the reps that when I talk to the senior visors so if you find out how to get rid of this please let me know if possibly could stem from some of the pre-installed spyware that Lenovo loud back in 2014 to 2015 I would be curious if you were to have bought a Lenovo device within that time parameter or if you have a Windows computer and you go to your registry and type in super fish and see if anything comes up.
