Oct 28, 2014 10:02 PM in response to Isengrimby franklinribeiro,Same here. If you log out, then it shows OK. If you restart, it shows low resolution again. Just an annoyance, but it would be nice to have it fixed soon.

Oct 29, 2014 3:29 AM in response to dominic23by kOoLiNuS,That was the first thing I tried… with no luck. After login the desktop changes the resolution. I do a log-out and then the windows is “normal”.
My machine sports also a "black" background with white Apple logo and progress bar. Happens to you too?

Oct 29, 2014 4:39 AM in response to Isengrimby steve.cantlay,Same issue here. The initial apple logo changes size and I then arrive at the login screen in a low resolution. Setting the Pram has not resolved it

Oct 29, 2014 4:30 PM in response to Isengrimby chriswtf887,Also experiencing this on my Late-2013 15" rMBP...it wasn't present during the early OSX 10.10 betas but has been persistent over the last few and now with the full release.
I have done a full, clean install as well to see if something was fubared in the settings but nope. What a really silly issue to have. 10.10 wasn't ready for primetime, these aren't the type of bugs that people should be experiencing.
What I can say though is that for me, this issue is limited to when i'm using an external display. If I use my laptop without anything connected externally it doesn't happen. -
Oct 29, 2014 4:59 PM in response to chriswtf887by steve.cantlay,I have been using an external monitor, though this happens wether it is plugged in or not. Also since this started happening the resolution on the external monitor (when used ) is corrupt
