No "Delete" button in "Image Capture" app.

Hello!

"Delete" button disappeared from my Image Capture app that I use to import new photos from my iPhone. See the attach.

PS This problem referes only to my specific iPhone only - I connected another iPhone instead of my own - and voila! - button appeared again, but not for my own device!

This worked -> (from Allison Sheridan: The thing you need to turn off is called iCloud Photo Library (Beta), not Image Capture beta. On your iOS device, go to Settings, iCloud, Photos, and then flip the switch off for iCloud Photo Library (Beta)), but first I had to disconnect the iPhone from the computer, then reconnect it. After reconnection, the delete circle (with crossbar through it) reappeared on the Image Capture app. I clicked it and, voila, the delete option was right there. (note: my iCloud Photo Library didn't say "beta").

From your screen shot, I’m wondering if it is a localization problem. I think the delete button is being squished out.

If you don’t have it turned on already, try enabling Full Keyboard Access in the Keyboard system prefs, Shortcuts tab.

When in Image Capture, tab to highlight the buttons. When the Rotate button is highlighted, tab once more, then hit spacebar (if the Import To button isn’t highlighted).

With Full Keyboard Access, you can tab to controls and execute the outlined control by hitting spacebar (the default button--filled in--is activated with Return key as normal).

This is ridiculous though! Why do we have to fiddle with iCloud photo settings for a simple thing such as deleting some photos? I am seriously considering giving up everything Photo related in iOS. Shame as the camera is the only thing that is stopping me from smashing this iPhone 6 to pieces. It's an awful piece of engineering. Deletion is a basic process. I am just baffled. And as you can see - very frustrated.

Thank you Chey T and Allison! Combining both of your suggestions worked!

"...if you turn off the iCloud upload to photos and then rest your phone by holding down the home and power button till the Apple logo appears open Image Capture app again and boom the delete button is back." - Chey T

= SUCCESS! Delete button is back and we can all declutter our phones again!

My desktop Mac is:

Mac Pro (Mid 2010)

2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

14 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC

ATi Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB

OS X Yosemite

Version 10.10.4

My iPhone:

Model 4S

iOS is Up-To-Date as of this writing; August 6, 2015.

Your advice does not apply.

I have the same issue with Image Capture.

In Image Capture interface;

• Where did the "DELETE" button go for images on my connected iOS device?

• Where did the "DELETE AFTER IMPORT" option go?

So aggravating and frustrating when Apple pulls unexplained stunts like this without warning.

I have the same issue with Image Capture. Why were file management options disabled?

It is truly baffling to the end-user.

It actually wasn't enough for me to simply do this. If your device is still connected via USB after you disable iCloud Photo Library (Beta), quit Image Capture and then disconnect the USB cable. Reconnect the cable and launch Image Capture again, and the "Delete after import" option should return. You don't have to reboot the iOS device, you just need to reestablish the trust relationship between the iOS device and the computer.

No "Delete" button in "Image Capture" app.
