Cannot take screenshot on iPhone 6 Plus with home power buttons

To take a screenshot with your iPhone or iPod Touch, press and hold the sleep/wake button (on the right) and then click the Home button. You can do it the other way around, but if you're trying to take a screenshot of your Lock screen, Touch ID might kick in and ruin it for you.

Your welcome. Sometimes it is easier to do it that way. Now with the larger phones, and the power button on the side, it is probably easier to make sure you have the home button pressed and then just tap on the power button. Glad you got it working for you.

I have had my Iphone 6+ for a month now and the screen shot was working perfectly until i update the IOS, now i hit the power button and home button together (dont work) i hit the home button first then the power button (dont work) i hit the power button then the home button (dont work) is there something in the system setting that i can fix this issue with?

I have this problem as well I am using the 128Gb iPhone 6+ with iOS 8.1.3 I have even tried to use the Assistive Touch option as well, to no avail. It is as if Apple took the function away from us.

I am wondering if there is some option that turns this functionality on and off?

There is no setting to turn on or off, and Apple has not removed the function. What troubleshooting have you tried? First step is to power the phone off and then back on. If that does not help, then try a reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release the buttons. The phone will reboot. Try after that.

Yes, rebooting the iPhone restored the screenshot function. Now my quest begins to find which one of the 934 apps installed is responsible for the glitch in the first place. Gonna be a daunting task but I'm sure it's one of my photo apps.

I have this issue too. And rebooting the iPhone does clear it up. But only temporarily. With a few hours or a day, the issue has returned. Also in the last week since this issue started, my iPhone 6 plus 128GB is randomly rebooting while performing totally innocuous tasks.

I don't like the sleep button moved to the side. Better on top. Pushing home and sleep to take a screenshot is awkward with a side button. Either way you have to use two hands but the sleep button opposite the volume buttons is awkward. I much prefer the sleep button on top. I have left feedback but just hoping someone knows of a better/different shortcut to take a screenshot. Thanks

Hooray I figured it out...for my situation anyway! I read somewhere that it may have been an offending app. Had my phone for 2 days and the screenshot function stopped working. I thought it may have been an app I use for work, specifically issued throgh work. Went into Settings>general>device management. Clicked on what was showing there (in this case Good MDM) and it showed 2 restrictions..."screen capture not allowed". Removed the app and presto, screenshot was working again. Laughable really considering I can just ask someone to take a pic of my screen if I really need to capture it. Why bother with this restriction at all?!?

This worked for me too!! I could not figure out why I couldn't take a screenshot and this was it. I have my work email on my phone, I went through the settings>general>device management and my work was showing and one of the restrictions was "screen capture not allowed"! Thank you so much, this fixed my problem!

After my iPhone 6 Plus upgraded to IOS 10.0.2, the standard screenshot method no longer worked - (i.e., pressing and holding the sleep/wake button, while pressing the Home Key no longer made a screensho). Now, screen capture only happens if both keys are pressed simultaneously.

Try doing it by holding the home button first and then tapping the power button.
