iPhone 5c... broken??? Home screen won't show up and backlight won't turn off, vibrates constantly

So... as the title suggests, my iPhone 5c is acting up. I can't get the home screen to come on, but the backlight never turns off. People have suggested turning it off then back on, but because I can't see the home screen, the fact that I can't turn it off is most likely half the problem. On top of that, it is vibrating constantly, and I don't know if that's because I'm receiving messages (which is unlikely) or if it's just really broken... I recently downloaded iOS 8, but I haven't really had any problems with it. Pleaseeee helpppp

Try rebooting your phone. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time. Keep holding until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons. If your phone restarts, you should be OK. If it doesn't, it's time for a visit to the Genius Bar at your Apple Store. Make an appointment before going in.

Is it possible that you got the device wet? Have you tried to reset the device? Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. This can take up to 1 minute. See if the device will reboot.

I dropped it in a toilet, but it was a while ago... I don't know if that affects anything or not though. I've tried doing the reset, and that didn't work. The backlight turned off, but it didn't stop vibrating and I can't even get the backlight to turn on anymore.

Time for a new phone. Even if it took a while, the water damaged your phone and needs to be replaced.

Yes, as rbrylawski stated, the toilet/water has finally finished off your phone. While it may have survived for a while, corrosion has done its evil job and killed your device. If you have Apple Care Plus, then you can get an out of warranty replacement for just the deductible. If not, then an out of warranty replacement will be a little more.

I feel bad if you replaced this phone. I had the same issue for a few hours, but after a few tries with the home & lock button shut down, it turned back on with no new issues.
