Garageband 10.0.3

I'm working on Garageband 10.0.3. How can I adjust the volume within a track to accommodate different speaking voices? I have some softer voices and some louder ones, and I'm desperately trying to massage the volume but haven't been able to. This was easy to do in the last version of Garageband, by dropping nodes in and adjusting the volume as needed, but after hours of searching tonight, I keep coming up empty handed in the latest version. So far, I have only been able to adjust the volume for the whole track (and not just part of it) Argh!! Please help!! Thanks so much.
