Can't Pair PS3 Controller via Bluetooth - Yosemite

Hello,

I have been having a devil of a time getting my PS3 controller to pair. It looks like it's connected, it shows up in the menubar list of connected peripherals. But in all of the games I have used it with successfully in the past, it does not work. It also does not show up in the Bluetooth System Preferences.

I have tried resetting the PRAM, resetting the controller with the indented button on the bottom, removing the Bluetooth plist in the system library. All with no success. My Apple keyboard and Magic Mouse work fine. The PS3 controller works fine on my other Macs. What the hey hey?

Any advice? Any other plists I should remove? Its a brand new iMac that came with Mavericks installed so I updated it to Yosemite right after I took it out of the box. Would a clean install correct this issue? Thanks for any help!

iMac 27" Late 2013-OTHER, OS X Yosemite (10.10), 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M
