iphone 6 screen went black and will not come back on

My iPhone 6s did the same thing and it still didn't come on so AT&T gave me a new one and I can't even sign into my iCloud and to get all my photos and apps back with out the verification number Because it's on my old phone that don't work need help

My 6sPlus is acting up but hasn't gone black,but our 6s went black this afternoon and until I came here didn't come back on. I appreciate all this info but what is the permanent fix? Are they issuing a comment what it is and what they're doing to fix it?

Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

Either the LCD is out or you need to try and hold down your home and power button at the top an try that

II'm late but this just helped me.... But why did it need to hold sleep andhome button to work

Had the same issue, and doing a soft reset (sleep + home button) made the screen come back up again. What I don't understand, though, is why this issue is happening in the first place. Anyone have any ideas?

yeah same story, but holding home and lock button is not doing anything.
I worked outside with it in my jacket during a rain storm, but i do not see the water damage indicator on so i dunno. 😐
i have it in a bowl of rice, fingers crossed.
