Q: iphone 6 screen went black and will not come back on

Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

Either the LCD is out or you need to try and hold down your home and power button at the top an try that

II'm late but this just helped me.... But why did it need to hold sleep andhome button to work

Had the same issue, and doing a soft reset (sleep + home button) made the screen come back up again. What I don't understand, though, is why this issue is happening in the first place. Anyone have any ideas?

My screen goes blank often. Why is it necessary to keep resetting my  iPhone 6? What is wrong with the recent update?

yeah same story, but holding home and lock button is not doing anything.
I worked outside with it in my jacket during a rain storm, but i do not see the water damage indicator on so i dunno.
i have it in a bowl of rice, fingers crossed.

Apple has to release a new iOS asap.

it's an iOS problem.

My question is why is it happening? I understand how to get out of it but why is it happening with iphones I've a 6 and 5s any suggestions how to fix this permanentl... Or is it after the new software update 9.2!!!!

Finally I've got a new one due to the iphone screen problem.

It was the hardware problem defined by apple care service center.
