No message forwarding option under Messages settings

Hello,

I am trying to get iOS / Yosemite message continuity working (iOS 8.1 and fresh install of Yosemite).

There is no field for "message forwarding" under my Message settings, even if I toggle iMessage on and off.

Upon investigation, some people have fixed this issue be enabling service location for Messages, but even more frustration, Messages does not show up under the list of apps in Service Locations settings!

Does anyone know how to fix either of those problems.

Note both devices must sign into the same iCloud account before it will show up.

Generally you will sign into your phone first then your iPad or second device

I tried this restart of the iPhone too, but without success. Still have no "Text Message Forwarding" option available on my iPhone.

How do I "soft set?" my iPhone to be able to forward text messages to my iPad? I do not have the "text forwarding"

I have this same problem. Did you get a solution? I have been using text on Mac for long now but recently I updated my ID password and now I don't have that option.
