I just got my Iphone 6 today, and my old phone was the iPhone 5. I backed up my Iphone 5, to restore onto my iPhone 6, but the Iphone name isn't in the options when your selecting which backup to choose to restore the Iphone 6?

I might be having the similar problem. I just bought my iphone 6 and backed-up my iphone 5s which was on iOS 8.3. However, it seems that my new iphone 6 is on 8.1.3 and it won't let me select the iphone 5s back-up to restore.
Can anyone help?
That is correct. The first thing you will need to do before you restore the iOS 8.3 backup is update the iPhone 6 to iOS 8.3, then you can restore that backup. You cannot restore a newer backup to an older iOS phone.
So how do I update my iphone 6 to 8.3 without a restore? I can't seem to get pass the restore selection and going back doesn't give me the option of updating my phone.
If you cannot get to the Check for Update button, then restore the device as new, not from a backup. Set the device up as new. After you do that, then go back to iTunes and select Restore backup, that will give you the option to select the backup you would like to use.
