I cleared the history and cookies but now I cannot access the Internet. I've shut everything down but still gives me the error that my iPad is not connected to the Internet. Help!!!
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DELETE THE HISTORY OR CACHE
This little annoying script is Javascript and can be disabled so you can close it.
1. Close Safari by double tapping the "Home" button and swipe up on the Safari application or click the "X" depending on the version iOS you have.
2. Go to Settings > Safari > Advanced
3. turn off Javascript
4. open Safari (the annoying popup might show up one more time, just click it off if it does)
5. close the page that has the pop up
6. go back in and enable Javascript so the rest of your legitimate sites work correctly.
DONE!
Make sure your device is not in Airplane Mode.
Make sure you are connected to a wifi device that has internet access or 3G or 4G if you have a phone or iPad with the cellular plan.
Make sure your cellular data is turned on.
Clearing the cache or history should not disable the internet.
Thank you jeichelb it works!
I have a feeling its a scum but i got curious so i called the number and so he said that i have to upgrade my ios and i open a third party site and that they can fix it but i have to pay $49 when i heard that i knew it.and so i said i will call back i just need to ask my friend first and then this guy from that 1800 number asked me 'why do you need to call your friend you dont trust me?'i said i can fix it and so i said i want to call my friend first can't i do that?and he keep on saying u dont need to call your friend if you trust me and i hung up.i was so annoyed.
I just had the same happen to my daughters phone I called the number and a guy answered the phone
didnt say a company name of any sort just hi how can I help you and it sounded overseas call call center type background noise.
told him my daughters phone had got some IOSalertfaults.com on the screen and he said yes my daughter had accessed a site that had some malicious BS
so then he tells me he can get me with a tech right away and for the one time fee of $99 blah blah
I asked him if it was apple support I was calling ,he said no ,its such and such, that was when I dropped the phone on the wanker
You can say a lot of **** about Apple products but there are a boatload of MFs out there who would sell you all sorts of I believe its called Crap and tell you anything to get money out of you.aand I have to say this forum is fairly freakin cool too lots of answers to questions I dont want to dig through the manual for, if I had a manual
Good night yall
worked great for me. Thanks
hey everyone! this is a huge scam!!
I called the # from my home phone to make sure and sure enough the promt sounded like a terrible voice robot recording. If this was apple support you wouldnt be hearing a terrible grade recording or music! Apple and ios have standards high above this! I let the music play until an east indian man answered. I asked him questions and he seemed to know multiple things like where i was calling from. He also asked about 3 times how i stumbled on to this issue and what i was browsing for (non of his business of course) he said there are ways to fix this. He was terrible so naturally i hung up the phone.
The website i got this issue from was hdmovie-14.com DO NOT GO THERE. It used to be a site to watch movies from and i went on there after asking a coworker about getting movies which i normally dont do. .I had previously visited the site and yes with pop ups it actually worked. But i went to look a few weeks ago while being bored and the site was shut down. Made complete sense to me. I then forgot that i had visited it and decided to a couple days ago and thats when the HUGE screen popped up and wouldnt go away. Obviously someone overseas had pirated this very popular shut down website to be reactivated only to try to get customers to call and "fix their ipads iphones or laptops" it is nothing but a scam to try to get your credit card information i am sure there are multiple websites where this is happening and i would suggest beign careful
the advice below about restarting your phone and deleting your cookies works perfectly and i have had no issues since
Okay, but this happened in Dolphin browser and I can't use your solution. I guess I could just uninstall Dolphin but I hate to have to lose all my bookmarks.
any ideas?

Check for a "Clear History" option within the browser. If you can't find one, then you are probably better off deleting and reinstalling the browser.
THanks for for responding, but I opened up Dolphin and the tabs were slow in opening up. So I was able to close the the tab that gave the warning before the warning popped up.
Thank you this worked.
Make sure you change your passwords!!!
Worked for me. Thanks.
Its a two to three step simple precedure. On your iphone go to setting and locare Safari. Then goto Advance and clear your Web Sata. Almost done. Goback one step to Safari setting again and this time clear history. You are all set.
Hi
Go to settings -Safari delete history & data.
Cheers
Brian
You should try going into settings and go to safari on the settings app and clear all history
