Hi, I just downloaded Final Cut Pro 7.0 to my Mac running OS X 10.7.5 and during the download an error message came up on motion 1 and 2 disks. The rest of disks downloaded fine. First, will Final Cut Pro 7.0 run correctly without the motion disks, and second, should I download the motion disks, and if so do I just put them into the DVD drive to install. Thanks Randall

The reason I brought up FCP-X is that it is mentioned at the bottom of your first post. FCP etc should work fine without Motion installed. I'm not sure, but those disks may contain content used by Motion. Can you compete the install, after dissmissIng the errors?

When you say "downloaded" do you mean installed?
There is no legitimate source to download FCP7 from.
If you do mean installed, and you are installing from your installation DVDs, then do you also have FCP-X installed? What operating system are you using?

Meg, sorry, I have the complete Final Cut Studio 7.0. I am running Mac OS X Version 10.7.5. Processor 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo, and the memory 3 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. I was installing the FCS and everything went well except when I was installing the Motion disk 1 and 2. The both said error when I was running them as per the installation instructions. All of the disks came in the same Final Cut Studio Box and I followed the Install Disks prompts. Are not all of the disks in the box, FCS? What is FCP-X. I am sorry that I know so little about the programs. It has been several years since I actually have used FCP. I read the link you sent, and I just had a new opperating system and a new 1TB hard drive installed due to the age of my IMAC (operation system was corrupted and the hard drive was 8 years old). If I am not able to install the motion disks will FCS still work on my system? I use to do videos for charities years ago, and I just downloaded FCS on my system so I could start helping a few of the charities again, like Helping Hands. Still not sure what to do. Sorry to take up you time, but any help is greatly appreciated.
