iOS 8 Keyboard Shortcuts won't delete.

So I've had my iPhone 6 now for a few weeks and It's running the latest iOS (iOS 8.1).

I have about 40 Shortcuts in the keyboard and duplicates, however when I delete any of these shortcuts, they reappear, I've turned off iCloud on my iPad, and Mac but yet they still appear and its getting very frustrating. Please help me. 😟

I've been following this post for weeks now. Of all the different solutions and methods suggested here, this is the only one that has effectively worked for me. Since I followed these steps about a week ago, I've had zero zombie shortcuts reappear on my list and I've continued to add and delete without any hassle whatsoever – even after multiple reboots. Thank you so much!

  1. Backup iPhone to iTunes (Do this with a direct connection to your computer, not a backup to iCloud).
  2. Install the app iBackupBot on your Mac or PC and open it (the app can be found by googling iCopyBot).
  3. Navigate to System files > KeyboardDomain.
  4. Delete the "CoreDataUbiquitySupport” folder (it contains the corrupted CloudUserDictionary file(s) that are causing the zombies).
  5. I had a couple more keyboard sounding files from 2013 in the KeyboardDomain folder. One was another CloudUserDictionary.sqlite (I forget the other 2). If you find any of those old files from 2013, delete them as well.
  6. Exit iBackupBot.
  7. Restore the iPhone from the backup created in step 1 that now has the corrupted files deleted.
  8. Do the same process for the iPad or any other devices you have other than a Mac.
  9. When done reboot both everything.
  10. Clean up your shortcuts on all devices including Macs - They may not be the same.
  11. I deleted all shortcuts on the Mac as they were stubborn. Don't worry the Mac will begin to sync and restore only your non-zombie shortcuts.
  12. Go to bed! Stuff takes a long time to fully sync.
  13. Once everything has synced I found it easier to just delete all of my shortcuts and only type in the ones I wanted to keep into one of the devices (and let it sync them to the others) as there were duplicates on various devices including the Mac.

I have tried all these solutions and still my shortcuts return. I have so many duplicate and obsolete shortcuts it is not silly. And this has been going on for a few years with major and minor iOS upgrades. I am a major Apple customer with many products. I've watched as many users in many web sites have expressed frustration with the same problem. Apple created this problem. It is inexcusable that they have let this problem go unsolved for so long. And with all due respect, starting over as in setting up as a brand new iPhone is not an acceptable solution. I'm guessing the iOS 9 upgrade will not fix this any more than 8 or 7 did. I expect more from Apple.

Thats a ridiculous solution....Apple should focus on perfecting their software rather than selling watches people don't want or can't afford. PS- waterproof had only been available for years.... We spend and spend and spend..... For limited Ram and operating software that gets glitchier every week!!! I may take my Disney Dollars elsewhere- maybe Sony?!

I think I have the solution for this:

I had this issue for ages. My son thought it would be hilarious to change 'Hi' to 'Beavers eating pancakes in Space' and I could not delete it for whenever I did it just came back a few hours later.

I tried to delete it by going to Settings -> General -> Keyboards -> Text Replacement and then I swiped left to delete the entry and it disapeared for a short while, but then it would always return.

I discovered that there is a second way to delete these shortcuts, and this worked for me. Instead of swiping left on the shortcut you want to delete instead hit the 'Edit' link at the bottom of the screen and then hit the red '-' next the shortcut.

This worked for me.

I have an iPhone 6+ with iOS 9.0.1.
