Unable to use Apple Braille in Pages

Hi,

I'm trying to use Apple Braille on Pages and I'm unable to do so. I can see Apple Braille in the font selection drop down box, but it doesn't do anything. When I selec Apple braille the words show up as English letter and not in braille.

I have a MacBook Pro OSX 10.9.5.

Please help!

MacBook Pro with Retina display, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

Inputting Braille is like inputting another language -- you can't just change the font. Go to Character Viewer (Edit > Special Characters), Add Unicode to the list at the left via the gear wheel > customize, find 2800 Braille Patterns, and input by double-clicking or drag drop.

Or use an online translator like
