I dont know how I ended up with a username that advertises both my name and city of residence (I would never choose such a name if I knew it would be posted publicly), but for privacy reasons I'd like to set my forum username to something that isn't so personal. Searching the forums has led me to believe that there is no way for users to do this, but that mods might be able to assist me. How can I contact a moderator to request a change of username?
You cannot change your own user name, it requires a forum host to do it. There is already someone with the username Tys0n. Open your profile and replace nkgkpsg in the URL with alternate names you might like to use. Use + instead of a space if needed. If the username already exists you'll see the profile, otherwise you get something like this:

Hmm, not so sure on that one. Change your Apple ID - Apple Support might cover it, although that might have other implications depending on where else you make use of the Apple ID.

In retrospect there is something that strikes me as very odd:
I don't think I typed in my real name as the username way back when I create the account. I would never so such a thing. In reality my username and my real name were switched somehow. There is something strange going on I wouldn't consider myself responsible for...

I'd like to have mine changed as well. Its using my full name.
I signed up earlier today and it never offered me a choice (I'm sure). I started a new post and it asked me to login with my Apple ID, then allowed me to continue typing the post, when I submitted it, voila - my full name. Maybe because I signed in/up in the course of making a new post?
Hi ChitlinsCC, I would like to change my username, as well. I have the same username across the whole internet everywhere else, and it's always me. I spent over 24 hours creating log-ins at every website I could ever potentially use, and I think it'd only be suitable if I had my Apple Support Community username to match.

Precisely. The reason is, I am thecodercody on every website I can think of. I spent 24 hours straight one time registering that name all over the internet so that it's just me always. I love it. No numbers, easy to spell, descriptive still. Ahhhh. I made thecodingcody before I realized it wasn't available on twitter or facebook or something. Now it's me everywhere. 👍 I think it's good to avoid confusion if somebody accidentally registered that name without realizing I had a monstrous amount of claims to that name.

No, actually, I meant to do that. It was before I knew it wasn't available on Twitter. I discovered right after that thecodercody was available on all major platforms, so I switched. I ducking hate auto-correct 😉
