Why doesn't my calendar on iPhone 6 (iOS8) sync with Exchange?

I have an iPhone 6 running iOS8 and I'm having trouble with my calendar syncing with MS Exchange. I don't have trouble with normal calendar entries; it's only with recurring meetings. If the day/time is changed for the recurring meetings, my calendar in Outlook on my PC updates but the calendar on my iPhone does not causing me to miss meetings.

I've restarted the phone. I've turned the cellular data off/on. I'm not connected to any wireless networks.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I have contacted Apple Enterprise support and they confirmed that this is a know issue and they have it as at the highest priority to fix.

May not be a bad idea to also put a call in. We don't have a support agreement but they listened to me anyways,, and opened a case for me. I just wish that they were more transparent with the known issue!

I am an IT Manager with about 20 users who have a variety of iPhone 5 & 6 + iPads running iOS8. About 2 users per month find that either their mail, calendar, contacts, etc. seem to just stop synching. Usually turning off synching and then turning it back on will get it to work again, but it destroys any contacts or calendar events that they typed into their phone and didn't get synched to the server (Exchange 2010 SP3 RU7). They don't typically know when it stopped and so the "fix" destroys some of their data unless I tediously go through their Apple device calendar by hand and compare it to their OWA calendar or contact list.

This was a problem on the 4 & 5 iPhone versions but seems much worse on 6. It is completely random, some users lose their sync every couple of months and some never experience the issue. Android and Windows phones never have this problem.

Apple tech support usually revolved around disabling the iCloud or WiFi but didn't work the times I have called. I also am loath to fuss with anything but the Exchange settings as I am afraid of destroying their personal iCloud data.

Please fix this nightmare Apple!

I'm having the same issue since about four months. Sometimes changing an appointment, the same result update on the iphone i have made the change but the change doesn't arrive at Exchange server so the owa, Outlook and other iphone devices don't get the update. I have analyzed the connection between the iphone 6 ios 8.1.2 and Exchange server but i haven't found nothing. Does you have any news or tests about?

I'm going crazy. I have called the apple support and Microsoft support too. I'm still in contact with Microsoft support but apple doesn't reply anymore.

It's helpful that Apple write something about!

Last update after a weekend spent to investigate:

When the meeting doesn't sync, I have found in the trace that the server reply with

<Responses>

<Change>

<ServerId>23:2</ServerId>

<Status>6</Status>

</Change>

</Responses>

Microsoft says about ()https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg675457(v=exchg.80).aspx

6

Error in client/server conversion.

The client has sent a malformed or invalid item.

Item

Stop sending the item. This is not a transient condition.

Does you have ever seen this?

I'm investigating.

Bye

After about three months testing I believe that I have found the guilty.

I suppose that the cause of missed sync is the snooze. The snooze add 9 minutes and some seconds to the reminder option and it cause Exchange to refuse the update and reply with STATUS 6 (malformed data), Exchange doesn't know the "seconds" . After I tap snooze on the device the event doesn't sync anymore with Exchange and on the device I can move it forward or to another day without problem but any changes are made on Exchange.

I hope these could be helpfull. I think there is no workaround at time, only APPLE can do something for.

Bye.

Thanks heypatrick but care to answer a few additional questions (specifics of your fix)............

WI am having a similar problem with the recent 8.4 iOS upgrade and it won't sync my calendar or contacts (hardwired) to my PC. If I try your fix on my calendar, what happens to all the updated calendar items on my phone when I turn it off and back on? In other words, do they stay there but the sync just recognizes a "new" calendar or do I lose all the recent calendar changes and just get back what is on my PC from the last good sync (just before the iOS 8.4 upgrade)?

Thanks in advance. I know others have been having some serious issues with syncing music playlists with iOS 8.4 but as I don't use my phone for music much, I don't see those issues.

The user was unable to add new events on his iPhone 6 and have them sync to his Exchange Calendar. He could add them on Exchange or OWA and they would sync with his phone.

We only use Exchange for all mail and calendar functions. First when looking at the calendar, at the bottom I hit Calendar and unchecked everything but Exchange. This did not solve the problem. I went into Mail, Contacts, Calendars and went into ICloud and turned every toggle switch to the off position. This basically eliminated the iCloud calendar from working. Once this was done the exchange calendar synced completely from the phone to Exchange and to OWA

Why doesn't my calendar on iPhone 6 (iOS8) sync with Exchange?
