iPad Stuck in DFU Mode and Restore Error 4014
Hi,
So I have an iPad 4th Gen. Model A1458 and it is stuck in recovery/dfu mode. I was using it the night before and eveything was fine. When I woke up in the morning I couldn't turn on my iPad. After tinkering with it I plugged it into my computer and iTunes popped up and told me that my iPad was in recovery mode. I had no idea why. So I decided to restore my iPad since I had a backup. After iTunes was extracting the download it gave me an error and stopped restoring. It gave me Error 4014. I went and Googled the error and I found it on the Apple Support website iOS: Restore errors 4005, 4013, and 4014 - Apple Support. I followed everything on the site and no dice.
But wait there's more...
So I went to my local Apple store and have them look at it and it gave them the same error. The guy had no idea why. He got other workers to look at and they had no idea why. Then one of the guys said that IT WAS MY FAULT because the display broke and I had to pay a repair free to fix it. After having a gentile conversation about this, one of the other guys told me that I had a bad ANTIVIRUS software and it loaded some "viruses" from my windows computer on to the iPad and corrupted the flash memory. I can not believe how much crap they were telling me. I was disrespected at the store and wasn't getting anywhere, so I asked for the manger and she said that she will take this to "tier two".
I have no idea why I can't restore the iPad and I can't find any info online about it.
- It was not jail-broken or did any type of modification to the iPad.
- It was last running iOS 8.1 and I was trying to restore to the new 8.1.1.
- iPad is in good condition, never dropped without case
I have also tried holding power and home buttons to try to leave recovery mode and it works for a second but then goes back to recovery mode. The screen is black the entire time but that make sense since recovery/dfu mode is also black. Anyways I can tell it is leaving recovery mode because iTunes closes and the Windows beep sound plays. After about a second the beep sound plays again and iTunes pops up telling me that the iPad is in recovery mode again.
I have even tried it without it plugged in.
I also assumed that the battery was dead as well so I plugged it in with the iPad charger for an hour and tried it again.
Here's some screenshots:
I'm running the latest version of iTunes as well.
So can anyone help me? I would appreciate it!
