iPhone 6 photos stuck on "Downloading..."

This is very frustrating. Just got my new iPhone6 and the photos are stuck on a "downloading..." message. This phone was restored from an iTunes backup. How do you cancel that downloading process?? I know that the battery takes a hit when this download process is ongoing. Appreciate any help and info. Picture is attached.User uploaded file

well, my last phone, an iPhone 4, never properly restored the photo collection from an iCloud backup. It was always stuck on that download process. It looks like when I backed up my iphone 4 to iTunes, it also carried over that state over to my iPhone 6!! At this point, I don't really care about restoring my photos. I just want to end/cancel that process. How do I do that? Can I force that process to end? It is a battery killer.

Got on a support chat. The solution was:

- make sure to import all of your photos from the phone to iPhoto

- in iTunes, turn on photo sync to iPhoto

- Apply the sync, and start the sync process

That resolved my issued. The downloading message was converted to a sync message, and once the sync was completed, all was back to normal. Hope this helps others who are having the same issue.
