Why does my ringtone keep reverting to default

recently upgraded from iphone 4 to iphone 6. Bought a new ringtone from I tunes on the iPhone 6 but it keeps disappearing and resetting the ringtone to default. When I go back into iTunes to download/buy the tone again it comes up with a message "you have previously bought this tone"

the tones I bought on my previous iPhone can still be seen and selected in

can can anyone tell me how to stop the ringtone disappearing? the employees at the Apple Store were not even remotely interested in helping and my network provider shop had no clue how to fix it.

I downloaded the new software IOS 8.1.2 and it DOES NOT fix the problem at all, ringtone still reverts back to default ringtone, getting to the point that apple iPhones I use may move on to Samsung ... lot less headaches for their phone

Apparently the iOS 8.1.2 upgrade is supposed to fix this problem. It also advises to go to itunes.com/restore-tones on your iOS device

I just upgraded my iPhone to iOS 8.1.2 and the problem seems to be resolved.

I have back the ringtone I bought.

That was one of the purposes of the update of 8.1.2. For those that it does not resolve the issue, you can either contact Apple, or try visiting [itunes.com/restore-tones] on your iOS device.

I had the same problem,so I opened a chat with Apple Support today and to cut a long story short,I reset all settings to make the ringtones work again,the only thing I had to do was reassign my ringtones,so we will see!😕

GGotta say, good luck to you all. It doesn't matter what you do and how often you sync with the computer. If you have iPhone (I have iPhone6, iPad Air and iPod) I still have to keep resetting them, .....sigh. I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking you just have to live with it!

My phone keeps resetting the ring tones and all of mine are standard ones that come with the phone. I have been dealing with this problem for years and I have done all of the software upgrades as well as upgraded my phone over the years from an IPhone 4 to an IPhone 5 and now have an IPhone 6. The problem is still happening. Any suggestiosn?
