after updating to iOS 8.1.1 I have lost ringtones that I've purchased. I'm using an iPhone 5 and i really don't want to have to keep buying ringtones over and over again if they are disappearing. I checked in iTunes for purchased ringtones and they aren't showing up.

Having the same problem as everyone else is...ringtones are purchased via iTunes from iPhone then shortly afterwards disappear with no trace.
I am also having this problem! I am so mad I wasted the money on something I cant use!! I paid for these and they should work! They just show up grey on my iTunes!
same thing is happened to me. purccased a text tone, it shows up on my cc statement and hasn't appeared on my phone yet.
I thought to myself, I could go make my own ringtone and rename it, etc... but why not just spend the $1 to buy a ringtone? It will sync perfectly with everything, be flawlessly integrated, and I won't have to spend the time... what a joke.
Same problem here too. 3 times on the same ringtone then 2 on 2 different ringtones. Refund requested but have not yet received refund or any reply from Apple. Never thought it would be so hard to get a ringtone. Come on Apple, get it together.
the issue seems to be ios 8.1.1 icloud backup
whenever u try to backup with iCloud or automatically iCloud backup, the ringtone will disappear

i installed the latest update (8.1.2), and my ringtones that disappeared didn't come back. It doesn't even show that I purchased them in the Store (yet the money came out of my bank account for them!). If I click on them, it tells me I already bought them and asks if I want to purchase them again. I should not have to re-purchase something to get it to stay in my phone! How do I get my ringtones back??
having the same issue. So frustrated. It's odd but ringtones I had purchased prior to latest update stay but the new ones keep disappearing. Apple keeps resending and they keep disappearing. Ugh!!!!!
Well the latest update 8.1.2 is supposed to fix this issue, I've not done my phone yet going to tonight, so try that.
I had the same issue and now it is working. I made sure to install the new update and then I connected my phone to my computer. After I did that I went to the top where it says Store and I clicked on Check for available downloads. It then downloaded all my missing ringtones and alert tones. I hope this helps.
