Wifi not accessible in Recovery Mode

Hello --

I am trying to reinstall my copy of Yosemite (as none of the native apps will open, a problem documented here: After installing Yosemite, safari doesn't work any more.) When I open recovery mode, I cannot download the OS because the computer won't connect to WiFi. The network is an enterprise network -- when I type in my username and password, it immediately says "connection failed." I can connect to the enterprise network normally, just not in recovery mode. Any advice appreciated.

MacBook Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

Thanks! Manually setting up the wifi from the terminal did the trick.

It's worth noting that on my system, the WiFi's network interface name / code is en1 (ethernet is en0). When I tried en0 in the command above it failed. So for me, the right command was:

networksetup -setairportnetwork en1 WIFI_SSID_I_WANT_TO_JOIN WIFI_PASSWORD

To find out your WiFi's network interface, open the Network Utility (recovery mode or not). Click the dropdown and it will show you the code for your WiFi:User uploaded file
