Podcast cover art must be at least 1400 X 1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests.

Hi,

I"m trying to submit a podcast that I uploaded on to Podomatic and keep getting the error above.

I have changed the image on the podcast and on my Podomatic profile to be 1400 x 1400 pxl RGB but it's still not working.

I'd be grateful for ideas/assistance!!

Here is the podcast URL: http://ammado.podomatic.com

and the RSS feed: http://ammado.podomatic.com/rss2.xml

Thanks!

The image which matters is the one in the 'itunes:image' tag in the top section of the feed, between the 'channel' tag and the first 'item' tag. The URL of the image thus referenced is

http://ammado.podomatic.com/images/default/podcast-1-600.png

This image is 600 x 600 px which is why it's being rejected. You have an image within the 'itunes:image' tag within your episode's 'item' tag, and this image is 1400 x 1400 px and would be suitable. The image thus referenced appears only in a very small version in the Search results where that returns individual episodes.

It meets the parameters as you say. It's slightly over 1400 x 1400 - this shouldn't be a problem, though images which are somewhat larger get rejected. So I don't know what the problem is - I can only suggest reducing it to actually 1400 x 1400, and to be on the sage side I should increase the compression slightly to bring the file size down a bit.

I can't see any problem, though I can't check for the 'head requests' issue - I can only suggest asking the people who run your server whether it accepts head requests; otherwise if you have another webspace you can use you could try hosting the image there.

EDIT: another poster has the same complaint. His image also appears to be compliant, so I wonder whether the Store is having a glitch. You could try leaving it for a day or so then trying again.

unsettle,

Since you are hosting your media files on libsyn - you would be best served actually using the libsyn feed and hosting your artwork on libsyn.

The Libsyn feed is much more reliable then a wordpress feed and will give you a lot less issues - plus you have a support team to answer your questions like this.

You can then connect your libsyn account to publish to wordpress - no need for other plugins when you use libsyn.

The URL leads to a Photobucket web page which contains the image: this won't do. You must provide a direct link to the image. The page provides links in the right-hand column, one of which is supposedly the direct URL but when used it simply redirects back to the web page. It looks as if you need to find somewhere else to host your image.

You should check your image, once re-hosted, by entering the URL in the address bar of your browser and checking that it appears by itself, is 1400 x 1400px minimum (maximum twice that), JPG or PNG, RGB, and less than 500kB.

It would be better to start your own thread when you have a problem - this one is getting untidy with so many posters.

The image URL contained in your 'itunes:image' tag is

http://s288.photobucket.com/user/thoselovegeeks/media/877504f8-ffec-4688-a1b7-e7 f3441dadfc_zpscost2i6u.jpg.html

This is a web page containing the image, which won't do. There are links at the right-hand side of the page but these just lead back to the same web page. I'm not familiar with Photobucket, but if it can't provide a direct link to the image, which opens in a browser by itself (and it should start with http, not https, though in some cases just taking the 's' off works) you will need to host the image elsewhere. An ordinary web server would be fine, and probably preferable.
