What is "macvexe" on mac book applications page?

This just showed up on my macbook (left hand column and also there's an icon for it on my desktop) applications page in finder today, though it says it was downloaded a week ago. I have a mac OS10.7.5

(safari version 6.1.6) What is it and how do I know it isn't malware? How do I delete it for good? I'm afraid to click on it. Here is a screen shot. Thank you.

Eject it (press the symbol to the right of the name)

It's a free MP3 player, it is also fairly well known malware. Where did you download it from?

Here is some info about it, you may have more to deal with. http://gotoanswer.stanford.edu/popup_windows_have_taken_over_safari_and_chrome-1 2439108/

Thank you. I must have got it from here:

http://www.vidtomp3.com

It's is a site that converts youtube videos to Mp3 format (if you want to get audio off youtube) I've used it in the past but recently whenever I use the site, I'm now seeing all these pop ups for "mac clean up" etc. urging me to "click here" to down load. I never do, but this must've slipped by me.

I read the link you gave,

I assume you wanted me to consider installing Adblock? I can do that but will I be unable the to use the online mp3 converters? I like to use them b/c I don't have to download a whole program, just use it to convert stuff every now and then.
