I have an old CD I imported into iTunes. Chicago 18. It has a lot of scratches (it was my first CD from 1988). As I read the sheet for iTunes match, it sounds like a DRM high quality version will be matched and available for download. How do I get this version to play than the one I own?

Itunes uses the sound footprint of the track to determine if the track will be matched or not. If the disc has faults, it is unlikely to get a match. Try adding disc to itunes match and add iCloud status column to song view. If you get a match, you can delete and download matched version. If it is uploaded, there is nothing you can do.

Thank you for the reply! Great info. Just so I am clear, if I uploaded the disk, I am pretty much out of luck? For some reason, I thought if the song(s) were a match, I could get a copy already in the iTunes cloud.

Yes, you are likely to be out of luck but give it a try, it is possible you may get some tracks matched.
