while loading a netflix movie I get this error code. called netflix they said this is an apple code and to contact apple. this computer monitor setup has worked flawlessly since I bought the mac mini. Just lately I have been getting this error.
What it means is stated on Netflix's website
You need a supported monitor to play HDCP protected content.
Try searching in your library for any remaining files/folders associated with microsoft silverlight and delete them. It worked for me
interesting that hulu works fine as does youtube and all the annoying video ads everywhere. Why is Netflix so different in its set up that Safari craps out on it all of the sudden?

Netflix was working for me fine in Safari 8.0.6 (OS 10.10.3) right up until an hour ago, when it stopped working with the same error message on this thread. Netflix had me troubleshoot, trash Silverlight folders, reinstall, etc. Didn't work. They also kept asking about what display I had connected to my computer (an Apple Cinema display on a Mac Pro 2013). Chrome works. Safari doesn't. Trashed cookies and caches, still no go.
If anybody has an idea, would love to hear it. Not a big deal to use Chrome, just annoying.
I have a 6 year-old TV that I mirror with an HDMI cable from my Mac. It won't work on Safari, but I just tried Firefox and it's working!
Update: I updated Firefox and the mirror screen function has disappeared,😟
I switched browser first too, but when I tried in a guest account, it did work in Safari. So I just deleted the silverlight plugin, and now it works again for me. 🙂
