I have deleted photos from iphone 6 but the photo library still takes up a lot of space in internal storage. How can I delete photo library from storage on the iphone?

I signed in here just to say that worked for me, I had 600+ photos and 70 vides in the recently deleted that were hidden until I manually rolled the clock back. Bizarre. I am so happy now to finally have that cleaned out.

That is unbelievable. Why doesn't Apple fix this issue. It *is* an issue. Now I can restore the memory on my boyfriends phone as well.

I Have the same problem. Only problem is I can't turn photo library beta on because my photos take up 24.5 GB of storage.

Sadly there is no "delete all" option from the iPhone. I found a way using iTunes, please have a look:

go to the icloud and and go to manage storage and delete the photos and library and turn off the the photos in icloud section now check the storage u will get desired output.............

You might also check Messages app, where many photo attachments can be hiding. For each thread, tap Details, scroll down to the attachments, long tap (tap-and-hold) one of them, tap More… in the edit menu, then you can choose photos and delete them.

what about if you dont have a backup of the photos? I accidentally deleted my photos from my iPhone and everything is gone from my iCloud photot library! I also deleted them from the Deleted Photos folder. any solution?

You need to change the date on your phone backward by a few months. That will bring the photos up into your current deleted photos folder where you can see them and delete them. Then change the date back.

The problem for me was that the photos app was still trying to upload a video that I had recently deleted to iCloud. The solution was to go into settings -> Photos & camera -> disable "iCloud Photo Library" (at the top) for a while and then re-enable it.
