I am getting webpages in landscape view with detail missing on the extreme right of screen. I have not locked the rotaion and it view the same in landscape or portrait ie landscape shortened view. It is the same in Safari or Puffin browser.

I figure it must be a setting on the ipad but cannot find anything to account for it.

Can anyone help?

Well done!!

You fixed it for me! The reboot did the trick and I now have perfect views of pages in portrait with all the text showing, and better still, when one opens the actual page it is the same!!!

Is your iPad screen maybe zoomed in? A three finger double-tap will zoom the screen (if zoom is enabled) in or out.

You might also want to pinch the screen (two fingers on-screen, moved towards each other) since you can zoom into web pages that way as well.

I tried zooming in with two figures squeeze. This reduces the illegible area on the right and makes it legible but smaller but then there is a blank third of screen at the bottom (which will scroll up) Still annoying though!

Is it doing it on *all* webpages or just some? The iPad can have issues with certain types of web pages and not display them correctly. Most times, websites have a mobile version of the site which should be formatted in a way that all is readable on a mobile device (mostly phones). When the device tries to load a page built for a desktop PC, the formatting is not always 100% correct. Sometimes ads on the pages can throw even more of a wrench into the mess.

You should reset your device as that has not been done yet...and may alleviate your issue.

Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)

1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.

2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

Yes, Bob this is the view but mine are all Landscape and don't quite fit the page.

Even when you open (expand) the open tab icon it is the same on the full page.

There is also a blank at the bottom of the page when you squeeze the view down to try to read the whole page. This is like a blank space as if to take the keyboard!

If I could send the page snapshot like you I would show you!

I will let you know what happens when I have researched exactly which are the Sleep/wake and Hold buttons are exactly.

It appears to be doing it on all.

Even when one pinches the tabs down to the pictorials history view (sorry I don't know what you call this) all the pictures of the pages are in landscape

You're welcome. The only downside to the promotion if someone disagrees with you it's " Oh Mr. Level 5 if you're so smart....." When I get that I just smile and wish them a good day.
