How do I disable xfinity wifi?

I am not sure if apple can help me solve this, but I would appreciate anyone's input

Over the past couple of months, I have found that my macbook air mini and ipad automatically join xfinity wifi where ever it is available. I do not have an xfinity account, and cannot access this, so it just blocks me from proper internet usage. I keep on setting my default back to my home wifi (which works just fine, and has been for the past 2 years), but every time I turn on the computer, it just goes back to non-working xfinity. Frankly, I am getting quite tired of having to go through this process every time I turn on my computer. Does anyone know of any way to fix this?

No, the internet would not work when we would get up in the morning. Happened a couple of times in one week. It then, after a few hours, would begin working again. The CSR said we should have someone out to look at our equipment and see if they could figure out the problem. In fact, the CSR said our system wasn't even showing up on his records. I want my computer to connect to my personal connection and not come up as an xfinity hotspot each time I go to use it, especially since I do banking and personal business on it, I don't want it open to the public. Does that make sense? As I said before, I can switch it over to my network each time but it would be nice if it went directly to it without having to.

Because from what I have been told by people and the service guy, the hot spots are an open band, therefore if I am on my banking website, someone could get on there with me and get my info or other information from sites I am on. That is why when your at Starbucks or other open networks, you shouldn't banking or personal business. I want to be on the one that is locked with my password. The xfinity hot spot is not locked.

My personal network, say it's called 'happydays' for example, requires a password. But because I have Comcast, it is also putting out a hot-spot called 'xfinity' that is unlocked and in the area anyone can access. That is fine, I have used other peoples 'xfinity' hot spots when I am walking in my neighborhood, but I wouldn't do my banking on them. Comcast didn't ask me if I wanted it or not. From what the rep said, anyone who has Comcast as their service with the newer modems, puts out a 'hot spot'. Again, this is fine but it is not a safe wifi to do personal business on. See if this article help explains it more. https://www.cnet.com/how-to/6-ways-to-use-public-wi-fi-hot-spots-safely/
