How do I disable xfinity wifi?

I am not sure if apple can help me solve this, but I would appreciate anyone's input

Over the past couple of months, I have found that my macbook air mini and ipad automatically join xfinity wifi where ever it is available. I do not have an xfinity account, and cannot access this, so it just blocks me from proper internet usage. I keep on setting my default back to my home wifi (which works just fine, and has been for the past 2 years), but every time I turn on the computer, it just goes back to non-working xfinity. Frankly, I am getting quite tired of having to go through this process every time I turn on my computer. Does anyone know of any way to fix this?

Were u ever able to fix this mess? No matter what I do my wifi also keeps switching to xfinity. Therefore I don't know if that means it's using my data on AT&T ,, when I clearly have my own personal wifi at home ,,,but it keeps switching over. Can you please tell me what you did to correct this? Thanks so much in advance!!

I tried Forgetting it several times, but it kept being added back to the list of wifi networks. I have xfinity, but it whenever I am on wifi and suddenly get no response, without fail, the wifi has jumped over to xfinitywifi and I've lost my connection.

See my post below. I think 10.3 for iOS has solved it - there are two new options called Auto Join and Auto Login that can be switched off.

Hi, was having the same problem and I think I resolved it. What I did was go to settings, general wifi, wait for all of the wifi options to come up. When you see the xfinity one there will be that little i that comes up meaning like information I assume, I clicked or entered on that then it gives you the option to "forget network" , click or enter on that and it will ask if your sure you want to forget network, I selected yes and it says I am no longer connected to the xfinity iCloud Keychain. I don't know how I was joined to that wifi in the first place. Very suspicious! Anyways can you reply back I'm curious if that works for you.

I dropped out of this discussion some time back and haven't kept up with it. Perhaps that is due to Xfinity, perhaps it is just a new security tool. Who knows? But if it works for you that is great. I've never had Xfinity so it was never an issue for me but my brother had it and had a similar problem. On his Samsung phone.

I have been plagued by this same problem, like others I have tried to delete it from my list of networks and it has returned. I believe I have found a solution for those that experience this when on their home WiFi network. In your WiFi preferences Xfinity is listed higher in priority than the network you'd rather be using. Basically whenever your device has the chance it tries to get on a higher priority network. To resolve this System Preferences > Network > Advanced then move Xfinity to the bottom of the list of networks.

Are you purposely trying to be obtuse??? . . . . This is a legitamate complaint and needs correction . . . . I HATE xfinity but have little choice . . . . My wifi is constantly overridden by xfinity wifi and it's terribly annoying . . . If you're not helping, please don't post!!! . . . . I'm still reading through this chain trying to find a solution . . . I hope there's one at the end here!!!

there are 650 people reporting the issue (they check. I have this issue too. you don't have to type a reply to be counted) and it hasn't changed over time....

I have this problem all over town. 30 times a day at least.. it slows the phones ability to respond , send text or pics. it doesn't seem to know if it is on wifi or not . whatever ping xfinity sends back or doesn't seems problematic. I end up shutting wifi off which then gets me the message ' location services are better with wifi on'. just shutting off the automatically try to connect to networks does not work with xfinity.

Yes. Merely pointing out that others are legitimately complaining and honestly asking for help and that they have tried what has been suggested and it has not worked for them. Regrettably, I cannot offer them another suggestion other then to pester Apple and Comcast directly. Beyond what has been suggested many weeks ago at the beginning of this thread, no one seems to have anything more to add.
