Why do Apple use UPS

I have been using Macs for over 26 years during that time I have had a lot of deliveries from Apple. In the last six or seven years I have noticed they are using UPS for their deliveries in the UK. I noticed because UPS are the very worst couriers I have ever had the misfortune to be associated with and that is saying something since there are some awful couriers out there. They have seldom managed to deliver anything on time, they are rude and unhelpful and they never apologise except in the most perfunctory way. Why does an extremely well organised and perfectionist company like Apple even consider being connected with such a bunch of incompetents? I can only think it is a question of money somewhere along the line.
