How can I confirm my Recovery Key?

I have it [well, at least the first one anyway], from the first time I set up TSA, but now I forget if it may have changed if I had to turn off TSA for specific applications, then I turned it back on again. How do I test it?

You are not going to actually see your Recovery Code anywhere except where you wrote it down when you were given it - that's the whole point.

Click the link I highlighted above and enter the key:

If you want to you can get a new recovery key:

  1. Go to My Apple ID.
  2. Select Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your password and trusted device.
  3. Select Password and Security.
  4. Under Recovery Key, select Replace Lost Key.

When you create a new key, your old Recovery Key is no longer usable.

Roger - I used the steps you outlined in this post to try and get a new recovery key for an original iPad. The recovery key option is no longer available. Yet, the iPad continues to insist I must have a recovery key to get logged in to my apple services. What can I do to generate a new recovery key since I do not have the old one.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

Roger - For whatever reason our apple ID pages are layed out different. On my page, I do not have the recovery key option under the "Security" heading. My trusted Devices are listed separately and outside of the "Security" section as their own stand alone section. I've gone through every section and there is no option for a Recovery Key. One more thing, I do have two factor verification ON.

Any idea on what to do next?

Many thanks!

Okay. We are on the same page. I have 2 Factor Authentication On and my security options look like yours. The issue is I can't get my iPad 1st generation to stop asking for a recovery key to activate apple services. The iPad will not accept my password with the 6 digit verification code. Instead, it asks for the Recovery Key number. So the options as I see it are: 1) get a recovery key number regenerated since I do not have the original recovery key number or 2) find a workaround so the iPad accepts the password. Either way, I need help and I am open to all suggestions

Many thanks!
